  25. I searched the net far and wide and could find color palettes for Photoshop
  26. and other pixel based graphics programs, but I prefer to do most graphic
  27. work in a vector program like FreeHand and I couldn't find a stock color
  28. palette for browser safe colors anywhere.

  30. As we know, or should know by now, most browsers only use a small color
  31. palette of about 216 colors. So most of the graphics that we create are
  32. dithered on the screen. The colors found in this file are Netscape safe
  33. colors (should be safe for most browsers) and will not be dithered on the
  34. screen.

  36. There are two ways to use this file. Place the B_Colorsafe.BCF file into
  37. the colors folder inside your FreeHand folder. This will put a browsersafe
  38. color library in your color library menu. If you would like to have all of
  39. these colors available on your color palette right away then open the
  40. FreeHand document B_Colorsafe.fh3 (sorry only in version 5 or higher at the moment).  This document is preformatted to the standard banner ad size for web pages. You can copy the color bar to the clipboard and paste it into your existing graphic files to automatically fill your color palette.

  42. Note: the colors in the palette are named with their hex equivalent so it's easy to match colors in your html pages.

  44. Future versions of this file will contain palettes sorted by hue  and value, as well as support for other programs.
